As the Interim Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Advising, and Post-Completion Success, Sharon Anthony provides leadership, operational oversight, and strategic vision to advance academic success, credential attainment, and long-term economic mobility for Montgomery College students. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs/College Provost, she facilitates efforts that connect and strengthen the student experience, from entry through completion and into transfer and career pathways, championing a student-centered approach that accelerates progress and achievement.

Promoting the Academic Affairs’ values of excellence, innovation, and collaboration, Ms. Anthony implements cross-functional initiatives that align academic strategy with institutional goals and deliver measurable impact. In her role, she works to strengthen program quality, academic advising, and continuous improvement through program review and data-informed decision-making.

Ms. Anthony directs high-impact work that connects disciplines, enhances student learning, prepares students for life beyond MC, and advances the College’s transformational aspirations. She partners closely with faculty and administrators, oversees the College catalog, and serves as the administrative liaison to the General Education Committee, Academic Regulations Committee, CAPDI, and Collegewide Curriculum Committee, ensuring alignment with Maryland Higher Education Commission standards.

Ms. Anthony brings a depth of experience and a passion for student-centered innovation to the role, having served as Dean of the Germantown Campus, Chair of the English and Reading Department, Co-Chair of the General Education Standing Committee, English 101 Coordinator, and a full-time English professor for more than twenty years.
