Opportunities abounded this week at the College! The Rockville Campus hosts its Club Rushnew window on Thursday. The Takoma Park/Silver Spring Club Rush happens in early October. Through activities like these, we cultivate a culture of belonging for everyone at the College.

Information Literacy Empowers Critical Thinking

Information Literacy Week is here with Library sponsored eventsnew window that include the topics of AI, media literacy, visual literacy, evaluating sources, health misinformation, and a faculty panelnew window on using AI in teaching and scholarship. A keynotenew window tomorrow by Mike Caulfield, research scientist at the University of Washington, will focus on Information Literacy in the Age of Artificial Information: Challenges and Opportunities. Events like these empower our community to critically engage with information in all its forms, strengthening our ability to teach, learn, and lead in an age of rapid technological change.

Athletics Pep Rally

A pep rally for MC athletics will be held on Wednesday in the Main Gym at the Rockville Campus from 4 to 6 p.m. Including interactive games, lively music, and colorful decorations. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join in. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Whether you are new to Montgomery College or a returning member of the community, the pep rally is the perfect chance to connect, celebrate, and show your school pride.

Backpacks On The Go Explores Mc Leads

In this new episode of Backpacks on the Gonew window—the video series in which I highlight the people, programs, and places that make Montgomery College exceptional—I visited the Germantown Campus to catch up with Andrew Akiwumi, a student leader in the MC LEADSnew window program. Andrew shared how MC LEADS has shaped his leadership journey, building self-awareness, strengthening collaboration, and committing to positive change at the College and in the community. This program builds knowledge, confidence, and purpose—watch how Andrew and others grow as leaders ready to make a difference.
